Fashion

Hey guys. I wanted to take a moment and update everyone with the latest, as things have been pretty crazy with the performances and getting ready for the album drop - August 11th!

As many of you know, I am extremely passionate about fashion and fashion trends. I've recently been asked a lot about how I choose the outfits I wear - and I wanted to address what fashion means to me here...

My fashion needs to be all woman, all the time. My fashion is voluptuous, sexy and dangerous at times. I pull an immense amount of inspiration and admiration from classic designers such as Edith Head and Adrian Adolph Greenberg, and I am inspired by movies from the 1940's. I take fashion trends from the 1940's and inspiration from my favorite designers and twist it all up in an S&M, chic, current way. I love my fashion to be big and voluptuous all of the time - while still being classy. Hopefully you can see these trends in the outfits I choose for my press interviews and for performances...

Things are really moving along with the album release date. I've been giving lots of interviews and staying focused on my upcoming performances - here in LA and then in NY and Atlantic City. As many of you have read, "Give You Everything" just went to #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart - so this has been a very exciting time for me and my team. Of course, you know I had to go out and sink my teeth into a big steak to celebrate the news - I went to Morton's Steak House in LA to celebrate with close friends and family.

I have to share a very touching story with you guys...

I was recently doing an interview for Fusion Radio with Dave Tripper in Chicago. Off the air, he told me that he had recently gone to Milwaukee for their Pride, and he said "Give You Everything" was playing everywhere... His exact words were "You're huge in Milwaukee!" It makes me so happy to know that people have such a great response to my music - I love that people feel something while listening to me sing. So here's a shoutout to the people of Milwaukee - you guys are awesome!

Be sure you're following me on twitter at http://twitter.com/erikajayne I keep that page pretty updated with my day to day activies.

Pretty Mess is produced and co-written with some of today’s most in-demand and talented producers--heavyweights Peter Rafelson (Madonna, Britney Spears, Stevie Nicks), Eric Kupper (Shakira, Destiny’s Child, Kylie Minogue), Esthero (under the name Pinklake), Jahi Lake (Chris Brown) and Ike Dirty (Lil’ Scrappy, Ying Yang Twins)--and showcases her talent as both a singer and a songwriter with tracks spanning from rhythmic pop and dance to chill electronic ballads.   The album includes a nod to Prince, one of Jayne’s biggest influences, with a cover of his protégé Apollonia’s hit “Sex Shooter” as well as a guest appearance from legendary percussionist Sheila E on the track “Time to Realize,” in addition to the stellar aforementioned #1 club tracks.  Dance pop aficionados are keen to the dance floor mixes from Moto Blanco, Mike Rizzo, DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious and Dave Audé.

Erika Jayne Scores “Breakout Artist of The Week” Status

Upcoming Los Angeles appearances scheduled in advance of the highly anticipated release of Jayne's debut album, PRETTY MESS, on August 11

Los Angeles, CA (May 21, 2009) – International Dance music sensation Erika Jayne has once again rocketed to the top of the Billboard charts with her new single, “Give Your Everything,” taking its place at #1 on this week’s Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Breakouts chart. The latest hit from her hotly anticipated debut album Pretty Mess, “Give You Everything” follows up “Roller Coaster” and “Stars” as Jayne’s third time atop the Billboard Dance charts. Jayne will also get fans ready for the August release of Pretty Mess on E1 Music with multiple appearances during this year’s LA Pride weekend in June.

With 33 ads in its first week, “Give You Everything” stormed past hitmakers Lady Gaga and the Pussycat Dolls to secure Jayne’s spot as “Breakout Artist of the Week.” Jayne recently kicked off the launch of the single with the release of remixes from some of music’s hottest talent including DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Moto Blanco, Mike Rizzo and Dave Audé and a video that paired her with Grammy-nominated director Marty Thomas. Both the single version and remixes of “Give You Everything” are currently available on iTunes.

No stranger to the Billboard charts, both of Jayne’s previous singles have had similar success with “Roller Coaster” hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and “Stars” topping both the Billboard Club Play and Dance Radio Airplay charts. All three hit songs will be included on her debut album, Pretty Mess, which showcases Jayne’s talent as both a singer and songwriter in a collection of Rhythmic Pop, Dance tracks and chill Electronic ballads. Produced by Peter Rafelson and Eric Kupper, Pretty Mess is scheduled for an August 11 release on E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records).

Fans of Jayne will also have the chance to experience her spectacular live show as she takes the stage for multiple appearances during this year’s LA Pride weekend. On Saturday, June 13 she’ll join Deborah Cox and American Idol’s Fantasia on the main stage at the 2009 LA Pride Festival presented by Christopher Street West. Jayne will return to the stage on Sunday at Playhouse, Hollywood’s newest entertainment venue, where she’ll perform as part of the club’s grand opening.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hey guys! Things are going well and I've been extremely busy with interviews and press for the release of the album. It's all very exciting and I'm having a blast. You will have to keep an eye out for the July issue of Hustler Magazine - I recently did a great interview with them and I'm excited for the issue to hit stands.

We are moving right along in preparation for the album release - I just finished casting all my dancers for the live show in preparation for tours and performances. And I must say the dancers are HOT, so ladies, definitely keep your eyes peeled. They're awesome and I'm excited about the show we are piecing together.

I'm also back in the studio and doing what I love. I really enjoy the time before an album drops - dancing, singing, the press - this is what it's all about! Getting to share my point of view on life and music with the world - it's what I live for.

Follow up to my visit in Vegas over Easter weekend: Well, my friend lost :( but we had a GREAT time and I had a blast. I know it's typical Erika Jayne, but I have to comment on the amazing food I ate while I was there. You guys have to try SW Steakhouse at The Wynn. The food was awesome, and for me to make a comment like that about meat, you know it was stellar! ;) So check it out if you're in Vegas... On a more personal note, I will be traveling back home to GA for the weekend to take care of my grandmother. Please keep her in your prayers.

Aside from the family time, I hope to connect with some old friends, shop, and (my favorite) hit up Chick-Fil-A as much as I can :) Your thoughts and prayers for my grandmother are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for checking in...more later.

New Single "Give You Everything" Now Available

DANCE MUSIC SENSATION ERIKA JAYNE READIES RELEASE OF NEW SINGLE “GIVE YOU EVERYTHING”
Highly Anticipated Debut Album Pretty Mess Scheduled for July 7th Release

Dance music sensation Erika Jayne will bring her third single, “Give You Everything,” to iTunes on Tuesday, April 7. The surefire hit follows the heat from smash singles “Roller Coaster” and “Stars,” which both rocketed Jayne to #1 on the Billboard Dance charts and made her a favorite on dance floors across the world. The iTunes launch will also feature a package of remixes from DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Moto Blanco, Mike Rizzo and Dave Audé. To follow up the release, “Give You Everything” will hit radio stations nationwide on April 13th.

“Give You Everything,” along with Jayne’s previous hit singles, will be included on her highly anticipated debut Pretty Mess, which is scheduled for a July 7th release through E1 Music. The album highlights her talent as both a singer and songwriter and shows multiple sides of Jayne by bringing together a fusion of Rhythmic Pop, Dance and chill Electronic ballads.

“I’m excited for my fans to hear Pretty Mess,” says Jayne. “When I was working on the album, I wanted to create a collection of songs that would make people want to dance and enjoy themselves – something that they could put on and have a good time.”

Production on Pretty Mess by heavy hitters Peter Rafelson (Madonna, Britney Spears, Stevie Nicks) and Eric Kupper (Shakira, Destiny’s Child, Kylie Minogue) is complemented perfectly with stellar guest production by Esthero and Jahi Lake (Chris Brown), under the name Pinklake, and Ike Dirty (Lil’ Scrappy Ying Yang Twinz), son of the legendary Isaac Hayes. Jayne also receives help from celebrated percussionist Sheila E on the track “Time to Realize;” and includes an ode to her influence Prince with a cover of his protégé Apollonia’s hit “Sex Shooter.”

The single release for “Give You Everything” will be accompanied by a video that paired Jayne with Grammy-nominated music video director Marty Thomas and choreographer Mikey Minden (The Pussycat Dolls). Set as Jayne auditions for a starring stage role that leads to a magnetic connection, the video showcases Jayne not only as a singer, but a true dancer and fashion icon.

Jayne has already achieved success ahead of her album release that is not often seen by debut artists. Her #1 singles “Roller Coaster” and “Stars” have ranked her on the Billboard Year-to-End Dance charts two years in a row with “Roller Coaster” at #9 in 2007 and “Stars” at #20 on the Dance Club Play Chart and #15 on the Dance Tracks Chart for 2008. The “Stars” video was a fan favorite on the Click List, LOGO’s music video show, and remained ranked amongst the program’s most popular videos for months. Jayne has also already seen her music make the leap to the big screen with cuts from Pretty Mess being featured in both current and upcoming movie releases.

New Song and New Video Shoot!

I was in Santa Barbara on Grammy weekend to shoot the new video for my upcoming single "Give You Everything", the third single from my upcoming album due out this spring. I love making videos because to me, they are like little movies. The first shot up is always the hardest, after that I always seem to find my groove – ha!

I enjoy seeing what everyone brings to the shoot, the styling, the lighting, art direction, makeup, hair etc...all of these elements come together to make one great video.

Preparing for the shoot can be exhausting. Long rehearsals, casting the dancers and actors and long talks with the director about his ideas and goals, but at the end of the day I just love it!!

For some reason I can never sleep during filming, the last shoot was 3 days long and I think I slept a total of 4 hrs!

There is nothing like seeing the finished product, I am thankful for all those who helped me make what I think is a fun video. I can’t wait to share it with all of you! It should be ready sometime in March for a premiere! Stay tuned and please let me know what you think of the new song (Give You Everything --check my player)!

Love,
Erika

Erika Jayne Hits Billboard Year-End Charts for Second Consecutive Year

International Singing/Dance Sensation Erika Jayne Hits Billboard Year-End Charts for Second Consecutive Year

Dominates Dance Club Music Scene In 2008; Poised For Pop Success In 2009

Los Angeles (Billboard Publicity Wire) January 8, 2009 -- International singing and dance sensation Erika Jayne (www.erikajayne.com) continues to dominate the dance club music scene skyrocketing on to the Billboard Year-End Charts for the second consecutive year. Jayne, who took the dance world by storm in 2007 with the smash hit "Roller Coaster," a number one hit on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, has once again captivated the hearts and feet of dance music fans worldwide with "Stars," which topped out at number one on both the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play and Billboard Hot Dance Airplay charts.

"I'm thrilled and honored that my music continues to resonate with fans all over the world," stated Jayne. "2009 is going to be quite an exciting year with the launch of my debut album, Pretty Mess. Fans who have anxiously awaited its release will not be disappointed."

"Stars," along with "Roller Coaster," will be included on Jayne's highly anticipated debut album Pretty Mess. Scheduled for release in early 2009, the album features production by Peter Rafelson and Eric Kupper and shows the many sides of Erika Jayne in a fusion of Dance, Pop and Electronica. Guest production includes Esthero and Jahi Lake (Chris Brown), under the production name Pinklake, as well as Ike Dirty (Lil' Scrappy, Ying Yang Twinz), son of legendary artist Isaac Hayes. In addition, Jayne's debut effort will feature guest percussion from the multi-talented Shiela E on "Time to Realize" and a cover of the hit single "Sex Shooter," originally released in 1984 by Prince protégé Apollonia.

Tracks from Pretty Mess are also bringing Jayne to the big screen with music from the forthcoming album being featured in both current and upcoming films. "I Lose Myself" and "Just a Phase" make an appearance in the romantic comedy The Neighbor, starring Matthew Modine and Michelle Laroque, while "Rollercoaster" can be heard in Deal, starring Burt Reynolds, as well as the upcoming thriller Bumper. The hit single "Stars" will also be heard in American Summer, an upcoming comedy from the director of American Pie 2.

The video for "Stars," directed by Scott Speer (Will.I.Am, The Veronicas, Paris Hilton, Brandi Carlisle), debuted on LOGO's music video show, The Click List, where it remained ranked for months amongst the program's most popular videos.

In addition to the recent success of the "Stars" single and video in the US, Jayne is making a name for herself internationally, including massive club exposure in the UK and the recent debut of "Roller Coaster" on Germany's DDC charts.

About Erika Jayne
The rise of budding pop star Erika Jayne (www.erikajayne.com) continues to unfold with the debut of her new video for "Stars," the smash hit that's already reached number one on both the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart. The provocative clip, directed by video auteur Scott Speer (Will.I.am, The Veronicas, Paris Hilton, Brandi Carlile), shows off the magnetic presence Jayne has become known for during her recent spate of live shows around the U.S.

"Stars" has taken Jayne's career to a whole new level. The song's overwhelming success signals that the singer, having conquered the clubs and dance radio, is ready to infiltrate pop radio.

"Stars" is the smash hit follow-up to "Roller Coaster," also a number one hit on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Both tracks were written and produced by Peter Rafelson and Eric Kupper. "Stars" and "Roller Coaster" are included on Jayne's eagerly awaited debut album Pretty Mess, slated for release in early 2009.

With the upcoming Pretty Mess, the Atlanta-born Jayne has created a distinctive fusion of rhythmic pop, dance, and chill electronica ballads that is thoroughly modern yet ear-catchingly familiar. The album is produced by Peter Rafelson and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Tony Maserati. Kupper also contributes mixes for album Tracks "Pretty Mess" and "Beautiful."

Internationally, already a sensation in the UK after enormous club exposure and electric live performances, Jayne has earned support from a variety of circles. The Guardian says, "Erika Jayne is Madonna trapped in the moment when she recorded the Erotica album. She's Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge goes trance with a dash of debauchery, or Gwen Stefani goes burlesque. She's equal parts Hollywood glamour and S&M chic, the spawn of Sapphic union between Rita Hayworth and Traci Lords."

High praise indeed for a performer whose ascent into the stratosphere has only just begun. Jayne fans can look forward to an early 2009 release for Pretty Mess.
